FAQ

Are kids welcome?

Yes! Children are warmly welcome. The class is relaxed and hands-on, and we’re happy to adjust tasks so little chefs can join in safely and comfortably.

Do I need cooking experience?

Not at all. Our classes are designed for complete beginners as well as experienced home cooks. We cook together at an easy pace — like visiting a friend’s kitchen.

What dishes will we make?

We make homestyle Japanese dishes, the kind you’d find in a warm family kitchen. Menus may change with the seasons, but everything is simple, delicious, and easy to recreate at home.

Is everything made from scratch?

Yes — we cook with real ingredients and no MSG or shortcuts. Soups and broths are slow-simmered, and you’ll learn simple, everyday techniques used in Japanese homes.

How long is the class?

About two hours. Enough time to cook, chat, and enjoy a relaxed meal together — without feeling rushed.

Where is the class located?

A short walk from Shinjuku Gyoen. The exact address will be shared in your confirmation email.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Please tell us in advance. We can often adjust recipes, and we always try our best to accommodate.

Can I join alone?

At the moment, we require a minimum of two guests per booking, and we’re not able to accept solo reservations. If you’re traveling alone, you’re welcome to bring a friend — or check our schedule for dates when group sessions may be available

Is the class suitable for families?

Yes. Parents, kids, couples, friends — all are welcome at the table. The space is relaxed and homey, perfect for all ages.

Will I get the recipes?

Yes! You’ll receive the recipes after class so you can recreate the dishes at home.

How do I book?

You can book through our website on the Classes page. If you have questions, feel free to reach out anytime.
